Geri Laurence

Geri has also been given the spiritual name of (Jap Dharam Kaur)-Yogi Bhagan trained Niirimjan Kaur Khalsa  to interprete the numerology of each individuals names.  Geri is grateful for the initiation and blessings of the kundalini association that she has received .  Geri

The Yoga Solace and Wellness Centre was created by Geri Laurence, and it is based on the concept of offering a space for individuals to experience the holistic aspect of yoga, meditation, nutrition and body work. We provide a non-intimidating space so that you can better understand the bio-mechanical functions of the body. In that understanding, you can participate in your own recovery process.

Senior yoga instructor Geri Laurence was one of the first founders of an organization called Vancouver Friends for Life. This organization provides support for people who have life-challenging illnesses. It received national recognition and is highly supported by the Vancouver community.

Geri has 20 years of experience, and she is recognized by the Yoga Association of British Columbia and by Yoga Alliance. She has trained with Sandra Sammartino, and is very grateful to her for her  kindness over the years..   Geri also studies with Vicky Cathpole( Iyengar yoga) Rosewall studio in Courtney.  Geri has also trained with Sue Ducros, B.S.c,  M.B.A., from Ottawa.  Sue is the facilitator of the radiant Child Yoga Program, and also Community Relations Director for Lululemon.  Geri brings the Child Yoga Program to the community helping children with ADD/ADHD, Sensory Integration Dysfunction and Special needs.  The child yoga program is available to all children so that they discover the inner radiance that already is present, and learn to be their expressive selfs without limitations.   Geri Brings 20 years experience working with addictions and disabilities.  Some of her experience includes working with Burnaby youth correctional centre, bringing in the volunteer work of the Elizabeth Fry Society. She was presented with an honorary certification from B.C. Ministry of children and families for outstanding contributions. She believes that yoga brings relief to mental and physical pain.  Geri has also attended workshops with Father Joe from India and Dr. Ray Long (Key Muscles of Hatha Yoga).  Geri's recent training has been with  world renowned yoga therapist Susie Hately Aldous . Those studies included the kinesiology of yoga and Yoga intensive.  Susie's cancer program (yoga Thrive) is recognized by the University of Calgary
